In my automotive career as an owner/operator of a Chevrolet Buick GMC dealership that had a large commercial truck business. with the many oil patch tool makers and well servicing firms located in the Houston area, I was invited to a GM Fleet ride and drive of future products (2015). During that ride and drive a futuristic auto that was "Hydrogen" powered was available for a ride and drive. I immediately wanted a ride. It had great power and was very quiet. After the ride I stooped down to take a big sniff of the tailpipe. It was scent free, and actually felt great as I inhaled the warm and humid exhaust - It's only bi-product! Hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe ! It just makes so much sense that hydrogen autos become the real solution to the "Green Transition" for personal transportation and more! In the past rare metals were a cost problem. Hydrogen fuel cells have now been innovatively redesigned to no longer require these expensive metals. Hydrogen is now available in both grey and green production methods. Large commercial production of Hydrogen is now beginning tohappen on a global scale. Hydrogen offers both longer mileage intervals and quicker refueling. The existing fossil fuel infrastructure can easily be modified to encourage adoption without causing rolling blackouts on our already strained electrical grid. This is the answer that solves the greatest inconveniences that EV's have struggled with and so far NOT OVERCOME. HYDROGEN powered autos are the quick and final solution. Hydrogen fuel cells are not new - they go back to the 1970/1980 and were utilized in the Apollo Moon Missions. This thread proposes that momentum for Hydrogen powered electrical vehicles is on the tip of greater awareness. By providing all of the pluses with none of the great objections to the EV transition, a quicker adaptation is possible. I've lived in Houston since 1981 and with several Hydrogen fueling stations for retail purchase, I believe Houston will lead the way to an increased awareness of, "Hydrogen becoming the final answer" by fostering much greater acceptance. It is the solution that will gain much quicker acceptance and subsequently greater demand. Greater retail demand is what will supercharge the transition of Hydrogen powered EV's! I hope all embrace this concept, and contribute to hydrogen's endearing advancements. Let's build awareness of the convenient way to transition to a "zero emission of greenhouse gases" within the USA. Creating public awareness that Hydrogen has no inconvenient obstacles, is the one sure fired way of accelerating the increased demand of the buying public. A public that desires to save our environment, and "WANTS" to buy an EV, is what will accelerate our "Zero emission" goal. I'm of the opinion that the final solution is the one that has real retail demand and DOES NOT require legislative mandates. It should also have free market pricing without rebates that usually reward only the wealthy! If this is to be the universal solution to save the planet - its demand must be global! Let our efforts be aimed at the one true and final solution for our beautiful planet! | ||||||||||||||
