I like that CAR under 7.5 pick. Why would CAR have almost the same numbers as ATL? They have a poor OL, poor weapons, and a rookie QB. Reich is a good coach, but he has nothing to work with.

Arthur Smith is a smart coach with a good system. He has a great OL and good weapons (Bijan is a superstar) at his disposal. The offense was good last year, and will be even better this year. QB play will be at best ordinary, but Mariota is shell-shocked for some reason (as Philly fans are learning) and Ridder will at least have his head on straight.
Easiest schedule in the NFL
Biggest cap space in the NFL, and most of that went into upgrading the defense. The defense will be average, but will appear to be very good against weak opponents. 10 or 11 games are against young, unproven QBs.
ATL will win around 12 games by feasting on weak opponents. If they had a tough schedule, they'd be a .500 team.

Murphy and Bona, Joe Thomas (p.73), Gray & Company, Cleveland, 2023
Whammer Screen
October 8th 2005 Wisconsin took a 5-0 record and No. 14 ranking to Evanston, Illinois, to face Northwestern. The Badgers scored 48 points -- and lost. Wisconsin’s defense allowed 51 points against an unranked opponent. But there was one particularly notable moment where Wisconsin called a Whammer screen, a play designed to look like a run. It called for Thomas to take a couple of steps outside, find the cornerback and, well, obliterate him. That’s exactly what happened; the cornerback Deante Battle was completely pulverized on the play.

I also wanted a QB, but the Giants are rolling the dice a good o-line and a stud WR will finally make their gamble on Jones pay off. Nabers, though, is for sure amazing.
Anyhow, the Giants have picked. Everyone can now brush their teeth and head to bed. :)

Yes. Discussion on Bay Area Talk Radio today was if the 49ers will keep Deebo and Aiyuk on huge contracts next year before they have to pay Brock Purdy his raise from $1M a year to $45 to $50M. I like who they drafted with pick #31, another smart route runner who should get open against man coverage and perhaps allow the '9ers to let one of their highly paid weapons go next year to free up cap space to pay Brock.
