To: Zen Dollar Round who wrote (6993) | 11/12/2022 7:28:08 PM | From: TimF | | | I didn't (and can't, and wouldn't have if I could) delete your post. I deleted my reply (to the extent you can delete it, the post will still be there) and then explained why. That isn't in any way acting like a mod. |

To: TimF who wrote (6994) | 11/12/2022 7:33:30 PM | From: Zen Dollar Round | | | It's just as well. No need to tell me you've deleted a post I wasn't replying to in the first place. I was responding to SI Dmitry.
And I see I was was mistaken, my response to Dmitry is still there.
My apologies, sometimes we make mistakes in life, it's what you do about them that counts. :-) |

To: Zen Dollar Round who wrote (6995) | 11/12/2022 7:47:21 PM | From: TimF | | | I wasn't telling you, the post is public. And you have to replace the initial words with something anyway (although you might be able to make it blank, and could certainly make it just one character or something like "deleted").
The initial deleted reply was to you but then I saw Message 34009605 and so figured it didn't belong here even though it was relevant to SI. |

Causes many issues when trying to follow replies for a given topic when non-related replies are mixed in.
Been requested many times to be fixed over the years and never has been. |

To: SI Ron (Colonel Sammy) who wrote (6982) | 2/26/2023 2:00:26 PM | From: sense | | | I came here to discuss an actual potential new feature for SI...
But, having just read the posts following yours (and thankfully not those prior) have thought better of it.
Apparently the only "new feature" discussion SI wants... on the New feature discussion board... is that about extending over the top political insanity until it dominates every thread in every unrelated subject board ?
And whose fault is that ?
Perhaps I'll come back with an idea... when I see SI Ron moderating the board... and see discussion by others focused on improving the board... along with proofs that SI actually cares... and has any real intent related to improving ?
Otherwise... perhaps consider renaming the board... and, to better reflect reality, consider rewriting the intro:
This topic is here to serve a repository for all new requested features and debate their merits.
Great improvements to SI are coming, and you can help contribute.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts! |

To: sense who wrote (6999) | 2/26/2023 2:25:21 PM | From: TimF | | | No point in renaming the board. Politics plays a small role here, and anyone who tries to make it a big one is likely to get a warning and then a ban if they continue. It is mostly about SI (if not always new features) not politics. |
