Landman. The awll bizniss is back with men who smoke, drive pickup trucks, get their hands dirty and smell when they come home from work. And drink with sexy, tacky, slutty women.

Billie Bob Thorton was born for this role. He's probably too old for this role but we can pretend he is 20 years younger than he is. He pulls it off perfectly.

As a retired tradesman I enjoy shows about people who work with their hands. Not too many around. I'm half way through season 1. There will probably be a season 2. The in Season 3 everything will jump the shark and it will be unwatchable.

There is a pretty yong female city lawyer that shows up. We all know what will happen, With Billie Bob or the young buck who plays his son. Probably in season 2.

I'd charge half as much to write these shows.

This was written by Taylor Sheridan who also wrote Yellowstone, 1923 and others. They're all entertaining

Being an official old person I have a hard time finding things I like to watch on TV. The last two weeks I have been watching The Diplomat. The show follows the appointment of a new female US ambassador to Great Britain. The story could be ripped from the headlines. Iran, Russia and the US are all seemingly involved in an attack on a British air craft carrier in the Indian ocean. Its complicated and convoluted trying to figure out who gets bombed to simithereens in response.
And then there is the personal life of the ambassador and her husband. And the embassy staff. Oh boy...its complicated.
There are two seasons out and more coming. I'm not a binge watcher of TV, but if I were this is one I would do that. Great cast, great plot and great acting.
Not enough like this out there.

I'm also in the "old goat" group. Finding interesting and enjoyable TV isn't easy these days. I got into The Diplomat for about 3 editions. Finally had to shut it down due to the fowl mouthed female lead. All that profanity just begins to detract from an otherwise good story. Far too much of it out there. Puzzling to me as I haven't encountered streaming foul language like today's TV since leaving the barracks all those decades ago. Who really talks like that???

Agreed, there is way too much cursing (for no apparent reason) in streaming TV these days.

Almost every show is constantly dropping the F bomb, and it doesn't even add to the storyline, it's as if the writers think that is the way that people normally talk to each other. Husbands and wives are always dropping F bombs in sentences, when talking to each other, for no reason.

I think a great feature (which shouldn't be that hard) would be for the streaming series to offer all of their shows

1- Without foul language
2- Without LGBTQ storylines (unless it's the theme of the episode)
3- With a viewer determined variable level of nudity

And let the viewer choose what they want to see. I'd rather watch TV without the constant barrage of all three of these items, and to film the series with and without them can't be that hard. Just film the same scene without the F bomb, without the gratuitous boobs, and without two men telling each other how fabulous they are, and let the viewer choose which version to watch.

I'm sort of surprised it hasn't happened yet.

It seems you guys watch a whole lot more TV than I do.

I guess a Joe Rogan podcast is a no go for you. Those aren;t scripted. Thats how he talks. And thats where TV takes their cues as to where the culture is at.
