BLPT now 12 x 13 1/2. Tried to buy yesterday at higher price (when I had some cash), but online brokerages wouldn't acknowledge symbol. If I can raise some cash after this market debacle, I'm going to call my broker, complain about the block on the symbol and try and buy in here. For my sake, I hope it stays here awhile or goes down so I can accumulate a bit. Either way, good luck to BLPT holders! -Mark

Mark, Caldera Systems came out from IPO. Up $15 to $29. There might be more and more Linux related stuff coming out to get a piece of market shares. Good luck on BLPT though. -eH

Some short-term weakness in Bluepoint is a real buying opportunity. I think we will see the company make it clear through deals they have in the works that they are a leader. Those who are patient will do well.

Agreed. I think the biggest problem here is that online brokers still don't allow you to buy it unless you call it in to a live broker. Once that changes, the price will rebound nicely. JMO. Nice comeback near end of day. Thanks to all who sent me PM's regarding "online" success in trading BLPT. The winners apparently are Etrade and NDB. I talked to my brokerage yesterday about getting the quotes for blpt on DLJdirect. He said he put in a request. We'll see if that's successful. For now he said I'd have to call the orders for now. Nice comeback late in the day to $14. Good Trading! -Mark

Great Wall Tech (0074.hk) has been on fire recently, despite the political uncertainty in Taiwan. finance.yahoo.com Afterall the Hong Kong market has been way up, after the Prez election in Taiwan. Since Bluepoint is installing its Linux in Great Wall PCs, it could catch the fire as well. -eH

I think we will see good things from Bluepoint as the relationships it is developing now, and the business turf they have claimed, mature. As is stated on bluepoint's web site, the two main markets the company is focusing on are computer users and the embedded market. Perhaps we will see deals with major hardware or chip manufacturers in the Chinese market down the road. A- The short-term market of the BluePoint Linux product depends on the number of the Chinese Linux users, mostly computer professionals and enthusiasts. B- Embedded Linux Market - Mobile phone sales figures are much higher than that of PCs and the embedded equipment market is 10 times larger than the PC market. The future of Bluepoint looks very bright over the mid and long haul.
