Note that a major difference was noted at 2Kiu per day. Given all the other data that has been presented on this thread it is likely that an individual seeking full responsibility for one's health would be upping that supplementation above 10 times that amount. ie 20K iu per day as a reasonable input. Get yourself tested occasionally, but push toward the upper levels. (The healthies guys on this thread seem to be in the 20-50 k per day range) There has been very little evidence of toxicity of D3, though the Medical Organization is replete with promo's on overdosing. Scary stories to keep you from staying healthy and lead you toward drug dependencies.

D3 in its supplemental form takes about 10 days to become active as it needs to be broken down by the liver into a more usable form. (The active form is NOT available in the US over the counter, is difficult to find under prescription) ie. Immediate D3 entry into the system is being impeded via the Medical Organization) If you are going into the hospital for a procedure plan accordingly. Increase your dose of D3 weeks prior to the scheduled date. As discussions on John Campbell's thread reveal, low D3 levels can greatly decrease the chances of success in surgical procedures.

Co-supplementing with K2-K4-K7 complex can aid in bone calcium accretion. CoQ10 has an impact on vessel and heart health which is synergized by D3 supplementation. Diet is the best source of Calcium. Long term supplementation and Co-supplementation is ones best guard against bone degrading diseases. This is what kills many healthy adults over 80. Fractures, not from falls, but falls from shattering bones. Falls are the evidence of a long term disease osteoporosis that leads to bone, often the hips, to shatter suddenly.
This process may not be reversible but it can be moderated and delayed. A hip shatter is often your death warrant. Look around. Those rugged old ladies go from 'falls' not from noted diseases.
