When and where was it decided that killing enemy non-combatant civilians in conducting war was no-no?
It must have been after WWII and after Vietnam.
Allied Strategic bombing of Germany alone killed approximately half a million civilians. It is estimated that the firebombing of Dresden, Germany, killed 60,000 civilians. The firestorms were so great that the oxygen was sucked out of the bomb shelters killing all who were within.
The Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings killed 100,000 civilians instantly and another 100,000 civilians over time.
Vietnam civilians killed are estimated at 2 million. Bombs fell like rain on North Vietnam, according to a popular song of the time.
We can certainly be thankful for the vast ocean on either side of our country. We are blessed with two huge moats that help protect the United States' homeland from war. Terrorists are a continuing threat, however.
Strange that the only deaths the press reports today in the Ukraine War are civilian deaths.
