That is useful information, thank you. Apple Mail has always been a little glitchy for certain types of accounts, like Gmail.

I have a Hotmail account but haven't used it in many years, and the only email accounts I use with Apple Mail are an IMAP business account and a seldom used iCloud one.

I use the Airmail app for my Gmail accounts on both iOS and my Mac.
