Vuzix Blade 3000 Smart Sunglasses
The Blade 3000 Smart Sunglasses provide a wearable smart display with a see-through viewing experience utilizing Vuzix’ proprietary waveguide optics and Cobra II display engine. It’s like having your computer or smartphone screen information with you wherever you go. Blade 3000 Sunglasses with vibrant full color monocular display does it all with style and performance, providing immediate heads up access to information that wearers would normally have to view by looking down at their smartphone or smartwatch. Never before has a product been designed where you can see overlaid information, indoors or out, such as patient data, GPS mapping directions, restaurant menus, weather information, alerts and more without picking up a second screen. Truly revolutionary, the Blade 3000 Sunglasses are a perfect companion to a smartphone, allowing users to keep their phone in their pockets for almost everything. Finally fashion meets technology in the wearable display arena.

The Big and the small AR/VR companies- Public & Private are starting to develop more. Updated 2/11/2017

The small such as Vuzix IMO are under pressure to find partners with deep pockets so they won't be squeezed out of this tremendous AR/VR space. Many of the big capitalized supplier companies have the guts inside the bigger AR/VR players because of future growth, sustainability, and innovation participation in this space. IMO This space has so much potential that ones with good technology and IP will be acquired by bigger companies & partners with deep pockets. This because it will take time for consistent profitability in this space. This is why I feel Paul Travers at Vuzix has it right, to go after the enterprise space first. After meeting him, listing to him speak, and talking to him in person at the last annual meeting. I have a sense and understanding of his vision. The odds might be against him. However this humble knowledgeable man has one thing some of the newer competitive companies don't, previous experience. Mainly what works, and what doesn't. His early understanding of fashion statements and previous AR/VR knowledge in his previous defense business helps. Recent development Partner Toshiba has 198,000 employees. It's no wonder why they would want to develop a leading enterprise glass to save cost and increase efficiency. One big positive Vuzix has,is board member Paul Boris. He's Vice President - Manufacturing Industries at GE Digital. GE has 330,000 employees. That's a lot of potential enterprise space if Vuzix gets a chance to prove itself to GE. The same AR enterprise scenarios that applies to GE,and Toshiba. IMO Will eventually apply to many of the Who's Who of the Fortune 500. One interesting fact. Since I started this Vuzix board. Early Vuzix partner Metaio was bought by Apple. As per my question at the 2016 Annual meeting. All relations with Metaio ceased with the Apple purchase. Google pulled their first glass. Intel bought an interest in Vuzix, and Toshiba decided to not go forward with their AR glass. This IMO showed Vuzix technology could compete. The competition is still fierce with new & returning entries from biggies who first failed. Plus those with mega capital who can watch & wait to get it right. IMO New Big players such as SNAP and some others not directly involved in this space still might be open to buying in this AR/VR platform space. I currently have an interest in the company. The common & options & also competitor Kopin bought many years ago. My positions, as always, are subject to change with out notice. Due to the high degree of risk. This company is, but one in my high risk/high reward, diversified portfolio. I truly think Mr. Travers is doing his best. Slowly but surely the company seems to be getting the word out. However their are plenty of Mr. Wonderful's out there who think Vuzix will get squished like a bug. Time will Tell

The start of the SI Vuzix board

Vuzix Corporation/ Vuzix / The Company Vuzix Corporation is pioneer in manufacturing Video Eye-wear and personal display devices for the mobile video, entertainment, defense and commercial markets. The company is a Rochester N.Y. based company. A backyard company for myself. I am currently a small shareholder. I first knew about this company when I invested in KOPIN, many years ago. Back then, I didn't give the company any consideration due to the out of whack valuation at the time. However some things have changed. The company recently underwent a big reverse split. IMO an indication the company wants to attract more serious capital and investors. I've already heard a high tech analyst say that 2014 will be the year of the gadgets. With Google being a big well capitalized player in this field. Competition is sure to be fierce. Last I saw, even KOPN, which I am still a shareholder, ls looking to compete. Just maybe the company can find some more risk capital and new partners like the recent Uvex PR. IMO With some past KODAK connections and Kodak's access of technology and patents. Kodak is a distinct possibility. I also think Google itself & Marc Andreessen brings creditability to this visionary product. However It remains to be seen if Vuzix can effectively compete before it needs more capital. Please note this company company is still a highly speculative risk takers only pick. Expect extreme volatility, Buzz & Hype. I will try to update any progress on the company. The board is open for civil discussion both + & - .

RE:Marc Andreessen is clearly blown away by Google Glass and is ready to fund some awesome Glass startups.

He's called Google's new wearable computing device "magical."

It's not just a fancy gadget, Glass is going to be a game changer for certain industries like health care, the cofounder of Andreessen Horowitz
